The company was first registered back in 2002.

THE PROCESS

01.

Initial visit

We will meet each other and discuss your initial ideas and consider other options if available.

At this stage there is no obligation on either party to agree to anything.

02.

Administration

An informal quote will be created giving you an idea of overall project costs that you will need to budget for.

You would need to fund any  applications at this stage (e.g Planning or Building Control).

03.

Planning, requisition, commencement

We will create an action plan and organise such things as material deliveries, equipment hire, other contractors prior to starting and until finishing, the project.

04.

Completion

Upon your satisfaction, a list of materials and costs will be provided so you can see where your money went.

A final settlement invoice will be sent.

(We very rarely need large sums of money to be paid 'in advance')

Frequently, repairs to your property are forced upon you e.g damage by outsiders, a lack of care/ misuse of household items or more likely, forces of nature and deterioration through time.
However, for a householder wishing to make larger renovations or alterations, the hardest decision is to actually go ahead with the project!

Finance is often the biggest factor, followed by your trust in the person designated to complete the work. Also, length of completion time is a consideration.

High quotes do not guarantee a high level of workmanship or quality of materials used, as can be borne out on some of the ‘rogue-trader’ type TV shows. Equally, low quotes don’t always mean the work will be slipshod.
Trust is often gained from word of mouth (the best form of advertisement) derived from family, friends or neighbours who have had a satisfying experience from work completed.
A lot of bigger projects require multi-trade involvement i.e several tradesmen are needed in different skills to complete the job. Without a ‘project manager’ to liaise and timetable the different trades, a project can become drawn out as one trade must wait for another to first complete his bit and then hope they are still available.

With a wide range of trade skills, most jobs are carried out solely by our company, lessening the hassle for you of recruiting other trades. However, where specialised trades are required to assist, we are not afraid to enlist their help to guarantee the high standard of completion.
We would consider ‘specialised’ to include gas work, electrical certification, roofing. This type of work is carried out by specific registered companies all used by us in the past due to their ability to fulfil our requirements satisfactorily. This means that the burden of trying to get the different trades on site at the right time is taken off you. We also have links with other companies for such things as carpets, TV aerials, wrought-iron work and damp surveys.

We do not undertake work randomly. Since starting out back in 2002, we have relied solely on word of mouth for our work. This is perhaps why a large percentage of our work involves the same client base, either directly or from their personal recommendation, so after all these years we must be do something right! This is of great help for ourselves as much the client, as when we need to work alone in a house or money issues (deposits/settlements), both parties are starting from a position of trust.

In order to protect the reputation we have, we will always encourage you to use reputable quality products, whether its a tin of paint or a structural lintel because on completion, your home effectively becomes an advertisement to others.. These will likely be more expensive than  internet or high street companies but the quality and guarantees are better.

We will always consult with you beforehand and make suggestions to try and achieve what you desire. Many of the examples on this website include things that the householder hadn’t thought of or thought possible within their budget.

As you can imagine we have completed many jobs over the years, so over time the need for a portfolio of our work seemed unnecessary. This is because we believe that the work should be judged solely by its finish and not how good it looks compared to how it was.
However, since the inception of the website, we have decided to post a few pictures to perhaps give you some ideas!

The preferred method of contact is by email because its not always easy or convenient to answer the phone in a work environment e.g up ladders.

The phone is unlikely to be answered in the evening time!

Late evening is often used for admin and therefore, addressing things by email is easier.

This isn't really the address but a homage to my family ancestry.
